Titanium forged blocks are square block-shaped billets or forgings made of titanium alloys through a forging process; these industrial products primarily consist of titanium or titanium alloys, featuring high strength, corrosion resistance, and low density. Their core component is titanium, often alloyed with elements like aluminum and vanadium to create grades such as TA2, TC4, and TC11. Formed via forging, their surfaces can undergo machining, pickling, or sandblasting to meet functional and aesthetic needs across applications.

Features of Titanium forging Block

 

The core features of the titanium forged bock can be summarized into the following six points:

 

Lightweight and high-strength: Its density is only 57% of that of steel, but its strength is comparable to that of steel. Its specific strength (strength/density) is the highest among commonly used industrial alloys.


Excellent corrosion resistance: A dense oxide film forms on the surface, resisting seawater, acid and alkali corrosion. It has excellent resistance to strong acids and alkalis, but pure hydrochloric acid environment should be avoided.


Biocompatibility: Non-toxic and compatible with human tissues, widely used in medical implants.


High and low temperature resistance: Stable performance from -253℃ to 500℃, suitable for extreme environments.


Low thermal conductivity: Its thermal conductivity is only 1/5 that of steel, making it suitable for applications requiring heat control.


Non-ferromagnetic: It has no magnetic properties and is suitable for fields such as electronics or medical fields that are sensitive to magnetic fields.

Applications of titanium forging block

Aerospace

 

Used in engine compressor discs, blades, fuselage structures, and rocket casings, etc., to reduce weight and improve fuel efficiency. For example, TC4 titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) is often used to manufacture high-strength components, with a tensile strength ≥480MPa and a density of only 4.51g/cm³, showing a significant advantage in specific strength.

Medical

 

As an artificial joint and dental implant, it is highly biocompatible and does not cause rejection. TA1/TA2 pure titanium (titanium content ≥99.6%) is the mainstream choice and can be processed into customized implants through forging, rolling and other processes.

Chemical Industry

 

Used in corrosion-resistant equipment such as reactors, heat exchangers, and pipelines, especially suitable for strong acid and alkali environments.
