Gr1 titanium sheet belongs to the commercial pure titanium (CP) series of titanium alloys.It is the titanium alloy with the best ductility and the lowest hardness. Its significant advantage lies in its low density, which is not as strong as titanium alloy, but it is very suitable for applications that require lightweight materials.
The material is mainly composed of titanium (Ti), the purity of titanium is more than 99.5%, and is known for its excellent corrosion resistance, excellent formability, good weldability, and biocompatibility. These properties make it an ideal material for deep drawing processes and are widely used in ships, chemical equipment (such as reactors, pipelines, heat exchangers), and medical fields, especially where high ductility is required.

The following is a comparison of these two sheets.
Mechanical properties: Grade 2 titanium plates have better strength than Grade 1, can withstand greater stress, can be formed to meet requirements, have high hardness and strong wear resistance, and are suitable for wear-prone working conditions.
Corrosion resistance: Grade 1 titanium plates have the best corrosion resistance and are suitable for highly corrosive environments; Grade 2 is slightly weaker, but balances corrosion resistance and structural performance and is stable in chloride environments.
Material selection recommendations: Choose Level 1 for complex forming processes; while considering strength and other factors, especially for marine structural applications, Level 2 offers more comprehensive advantages.
Level 1 applications: Used in highly corrosion-resistant chemical equipment, buildings with high surface requirements, and medical devices requiring biocompatibility.
Level 2 applications: Suitable for aerospace, marine engineering, automotive parts and industrial equipment scenarios that require both strength and corrosion resistance.
Machining: Levels 1 and 2 can be machined in a conventional manner. Level 2 requires strong cutting tools and slow speed to prevent tool wear and thermal damage.
Welding process: Level 1 welding is stable and has low risk; Level 2 requires heat control to prevent embrittlement, and standardized operation yields good results.
Molding technology: Level 1 has excellent molding properties and is suitable for complex processes; Level 2 has weak ductility and can be processed efficiently using heating or progressive molding.
Surface treatment: Two levels of titanium plate treatment can improve performance. Level 1 is smooth and excellent, while Level 2 is difficult to treat but can still meet the industrial requirements for wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
