Gr3 titanium bar is a rare strategic resource, which is classified as a rare light metal in the metal classification and is widely used in many fields of national defense, aerospace, aviation and the national economy. Compared with other metals, titanium has low density, high specific strength, low elastic modulus (103.4GPa at room temperature), high yield ratio, small thermal conductivity (0.1507J), low thermal expansion coefficient, non-magnetic, non-toxic, high and low temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and strong affinity with oxygen.

The difference between Gr3 titanium bar and chemical pure titanium is that it contains a higher amount of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon and a variety of other impurity elements (such as iron, silicon, etc.), and it is essentially a low alloy content titanium alloy. Compared with chemically pure titanium, its strength is greatly improved due to the presence of more impurity elements, and its mechanical and chemical properties are similar to those of stainless steel (but the strength is still lower than that of titanium alloy). The characteristics of industrial pure titanium: strength is not high, but good plasticity, easy to process forming, stamping, welding, machinable processing performance is good; It has good corrosion resistance in atmosphere, sea water, wet chlorine and oxidizing and neutral weak reducing medium, and its oxidation resistance is better than most austenitic stainless steels. However, the heat resistance is poor, and the use temperature should not be too high.

It is mainly used for stamping parts and corrosion-resistant structural parts with operating temperature below 350℃, little force but high plasticity, such as: aircraft skeleton, skin, engine accessories; Marine corrosion resistant pipes, valves, pumps and hydrofoils, seawater desalination system parts, chemical heat exchangers, pump bodies, distillation towers, coolers, agitators, tees, impellers, fasteners, ion pumps, compressor valves and diesel engine pistons, connecting rods, leaf springs, etc. TA3 has good low temperature toughness and high low temperature strength, and can be used as low temperature structural materials.
